Ep. 6 Beastie Boys

Mike, Adam and Adam completely blindsided people in the 80's with their sampled songs, their "play-on-word" lyrics, and their hip hop beats from three white boys from New York. Starting out under Rick Ruben and Russell Simmon's Def Jam Records, the Beastie Boys created an epic debut album, with an even greater sophomore album to succeed it. Then the next two albums help secured them for being considered one of the greatest rap/hip hop artists of all time. With tracks like "You Gotta Fight For Your Right (To Party)", "Sabatoge", and "Brass Monkey", the Beasite Boys have had 7 albums that reached a platinum status or better. They are also the 3rd rap group to be inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, after Grandmaster Flash (2007) RUN DMC (2009). Their latest album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 (2011), was a fused together album of Pt. 1 & 2 after MCA Adam Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Since the album, no further plans for Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz to make new music have been made.
