When you have an English degree from Belmont it’s safe to say you have a way with words. It’s even fair to say you have a knack for story telling. That’s one way to describe our new obsession, Melanie Meriney, a songwriter that knows exactly how to tell her story. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Melanie knew at a young age that country music was her true passion. That dream led her to Nashville, a place she now calls home.
Fast forward a few years and Melanie has opened for household names such as Little Big Town and The Commodores. She's released 2 EP's, All The Good Songs and Up In Lights. The latter is where we currently find Melanie with her newest single 'Lifeboat'. A single & music video that has seen time on Great American Country's video rotation and performed very well in the U.K., reaching #2 on the Hot Disc charts.
In our interview, Melanie tells us her story of growing up with a rock and death metal background, double majoring, cliff jumping, and life in Nashville.
Melanie's feature can be found in our Season 3 premiere below, and her entire interview on our YouTube channel.
